What Chicken Road is

Chicken Road is a single-player casino game from InOut Games, released on April 4, 2024, with a published RTP of 98%[1] . It belongs to the crash family: a multiplier grows until something ends the round, and you decide when to take the money.

Here the multiplier sits on manhole covers across a road. The chicken steps from one cover to the next. Each safe step moves you to a higher number; a collision ends the round and the bet is lost. The game’s own rules put it simply: “Your goal is to get through as many lines covers as possible without getting fried. You can withdraw your winnings at any stage of the game.“[2]

How one round works

1. Set the bet. In InOut’s demo the range is 0.01 to 150 USD in play money[2] ; each casino shows its own limits in CAD.
2. Pick a mode. Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore. The mode sets how many lanes there are and how fast the multipliers climb.
3. Press Play and step. The chicken moves one lane. If it survives, the multiplier on that cover applies to your bet.
4. Step again or cash out. Nothing forces you forward. Cash out, and the win is paid at the current multiplier.

The four modes in numbers

We opened the provider’s demo from a Canadian IP on September 27, 2026, and read every cover on the road. The board above shows them lane by lane; the summary:

Two things stand out. Easy is long and flat: after ten lanes you have ×1.63. Hardcore is short and steep: the first cover already pays ×1.63. The game doesn’t print the chance of a collision — its menu only labels it “Chance of collision” — so the steeper multipliers are the clue to the bigger risk per step.

RTP 98%: what it means, and what it doesn’t

InOut publishes a 98% RTP for Chicken Road[1] . Over a very large number of rounds, the game is designed to pay back about $98 for every $100 wagered. The figure comes from the provider’s page; the game’s own rules panel doesn’t print it.

It doesn’t tell you what happens in one session. A single round is either a cash-out or a loss of the whole bet, and short sessions swing far from 98% in both directions. RTP describes the game over millions of rounds, not your next ten.

The max win caps the top lanes

The in-game rules in InOut’s demo set a max win of 10,000 USD[2] . On Easy that cap is out of sight. On Hard and Hardcore it matters: at a 1 USD bet, Hardcore’s lane 11 (×2,643.89) is already worth more than a quarter of the cap, and the last lanes are paid at the cap, not at the full number on the cover. Casinos can apply their own limits; the cashier or game info at each casino shows them.

Where to play Chicken Road in Canada

My take

I play Easy or Medium and decide the exit before the round starts: on Medium I take lane 4 (×1.70) or lane 5 (×1.98) and don’t argue with myself. The game hands you a new decision on every lane, and that’s exactly where sessions go wrong. If you’re new to it, spend ten minutes in the free demo first, watch how often the chicken gets fried on your chosen mode, and only then decide what a round is worth to you.
