How real money works in Chicken Road
The bet you place is what the multiplier applies to. Cash out on a cover, and you receive bet × multiplier; get hit, and the bet is gone. Nothing else changes between the demo and real money: the lanes and multipliers are the same[1] .
What a $5 bet returns, lane by lane
From the covers we recorded in InOut’s demo from Canada:

Read it the other way round, too: every extra lane is a new chance to lose the $5. The steeper the mode, the bigger that chance — the game labels it “Chance of collision” without giving a number.

A few things to know about the columns:

Limits: bets and the max win
InOut’s demo accepts bets from 0.01 to 150 USD and caps any win at 10,000 USD[1] . At a casino, the bet range is shown in your account currency and the casino can set its own limits — check the game’s info panel before a big bet. The cap matters on the steep modes: at $5 on Hardcore, lane 11 (×2,643.89) already pays $13,219.45 on paper, above the demo cap.
Taxes
For a recreational player, gambling winnings in Canada are generally not taxable — the CRA treats them as windfalls (Income Tax Folio S3-F9-C1)[2] . If gambling is your business, the profits are income. Interest you earn on winnings is taxable.

My take
